The Culinary Specialist - Cook prepares quality cost effective, nutritious meals for Congregate and Home Delivered Meal participants and maintain a sanitary kitchen.
The Culinary Specialist may be called upon to do any or all of the following: 1.
Food preparation and bulk cooking for Congregate and Home Delivered Meals, including cold suppers, packaging the meals and serving meals in appropriate portions.
2.
Maintain accurate inventory control records, daily cost sheets, invoices and reports.
Submit to Nutrition office on a timely basis (weekly-monthly).
3.
Maintain sanitation in kitchen per AASA and Health Department rules, i.
e.
kitchen clean up, doing dishes, putting stock away properly, etc.
4.
General kitchen duties, i.
e.
setting tables, lifting pots and pans, answering phone, etc.
5.
Cleaning on a timely basis, stoves, oven equipment, refrigerators, freezer, storage rooms, shelves, stove fans, floors, etc.
6.
Supervise and account for all home bound deliveries and coordinate with Community Liaison concerning registration of home bound meal participants.
7.
Congregate participant, registrations, client sign-in sheets and volunteer time shseets turned in to the Nutrition department on a timely basis.
8.
Cooking and holding food at proper temperatures.
9.
Responsible for notifying the Food Services Manager for necessary supplies.
10.
Attend training session as authorized by Executive Director and/or representative.
11.
Responsible for daily delivery of locked donation box to appropriate personnel.
12.
Removal of trash from kitchen.
13.
Other duties as requested by the Executive Director or designee.
ServSafe Certification required.
Experience in meal planning and preparation.
Supervisory experience helpful.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $15.
