*SUMMARY*
Responsible for overseeing the transporting, delivery and transfer of trucks and trailers from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks in a cost effective, efficient and safe manner.
Must also act as a liaison between the customer and the company to assist with orders, errors, complaints and account questions using organizational skills, prioritizing and accurate record keeping.
*Responsibilities:*
· Direct and monitor daily assignments to achieve the most efficient use of resources; schedule drivers, assign vehicles to ensure daily coverage of all routes, deliveries and hauling work
· Communicate all relevant details of driving assignments to drivers to ensure proper execution
· Assist drivers with routing directions and direct them to perform special services when required
· Respond to emergency calls, facilitates emergency response network, coordinates mechanical service repair, and assigns replacement trucks and drivers when there is a problem on a route
· Notify appropriate management/ownership of all changes in route assignments, emergency situations, accidents, breakdowns or any other event that will disrupt or impact customer service
· Maintain route documentation and records (relevant contract requirements, dump/transfer station data, route changes, relevant maps, vehicle details, truck assignments, driver details) for the purpose of providing accurate and reliable information to customers and complies with company, local, state and federal DOT requirements
· Coordinate vehicle service and mechanical repairs with Lead Mechanic to assure uninterrupted service delivery
· Maintain compliance to dispatch standard operating procedures
· Inventory the yards monthly and update WAM as needed
· Handle customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner
· Assist Human Resources to facilitate training, monthly meetings & recommends appropriate disciplinary actions for violation of company policies
· Reach out to customers and verify account information as need
· Assist with placement of orders or exchanges
· Take payment information, and other pertinent information
· Sell products and services
· Utilize computer technology to handle high call volumes
· Handle and embrace changes in policies, atmosphere and standards
