*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
* Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the classroom program and child assessment.
Organizes special activities/events for parents and families.
* Maintains proper records/department files.
* Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
* Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
* Supports healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
* Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
* Oversees the care-giving staff for a specific group of children and overall care and supervision of children.
*EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION - MUST HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:*
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a child-related field.
* Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development.
* Valid child development associate credential with 480 hours.
* High school diploma/ GED with 12 semester hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a child-related field with 960 hours of experience.
* High school diploma/ GED with a combination of: 12 semester hours and/or 18 CEUs of coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a child-related field to equal 180 clock hours with 1,920 hours of experience.
* High school diploma/ GED with a combination of: 6 semester hours and/or 9 CEUs of coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a child-related field to equal 90 clock hours with 3,840 hours of experience.
*Qualifications/Responsibilities*
* 1-3 years of supervisory experience or the equivalent, preferably as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.
* Minimum age requirement of 19 years old.
* Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
* Responsible to maintain 24 clock hours of professional development training per year.
