This is a second shift (afternoon) position.
The Assistant Home Supervisor answers directly to the Home Supervisor.
The Assistant Home Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Home Supervisor to assure that all aspects of consumer care, staff supervision and home operations are in compliance with the policies, procedures and standards of C.

Additionally, the Assistant Home Supervisor is responsible for any and all other duties, assigned or delegated, by the Home Supervisor, the Program Coordinator and/or the Executive Director.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include but are not limited to the following.

Evidence of ability to handle crisis situations with calmness and objectivity.
M.
Complete and meet the requirements of a criminal history check.
*General Responsibilities:* 1.
Provide direct supervision of staff on second shift specifically and any other shift as needed.
2.
Assist the Home Supervisor to provide 24 hours on call emergency availability to home staff.
3.
Complete data collection and review daily.
Report omissions or errors to the Home Supervisor immediately.
4.
Provide personal care services and assistance to consumers, according to their Person-Centered Plans.
5.
Assure appropriate medication distribution.
Report omissions or errors to the Home Supervisor immediately.
6.
Model and monitor active treatment and implementation of Person-Centered Plans.
7.
Assist consumers with lifting, transferring, and personal care.
8.
Conduct and participate in trainings PRN.
9.
Complete monthly safety check reports.
10.
Temporarily assume, at the request of the Home Supervisor, Program Coordinator or Executive Director, the duties and responsibilities of the Home Supervisor.
11.
All other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Home Supervisor, Program Coordinator or Executive Director.

Safety Coordinator responsibilities a.
Monthly Safety Checklist due to Midland Administrative office by the 5th of each month b.
Monthly Vehicle Safety Checklist due to Midland ADMIN office by the 5th of each month c.
In-house safety check on a weekly basis: 1.
Bedrooms: Check outlets, light fixtures, furniture, closets, window coverings and floors for safety 2.
Bathrooms: Check toilets, faucets, tubs/showers, shower mats/rugs (nonskid backing intact) 3.
Living areas: Check outlets, light fixtures, furniture, closets, TV, and recycle old magazines and Newspapers 4.
Kitchen: Check cupboards for food supply, temps in fridge and freezers; flooring for flaws 5.
Laundry Area: Check and clean dryer vent, ling trap in dryer, detergent/bleach properly stored, machines functioning properly 6.
Check all light fixtures in and outside of the home for obstructions (bugs, birds, nests, etc.
) 7.
Check ER bag (attach list of supplies): Update individual data as needed 8.
All walk-ways unobstructed inside and out (ice-melt when icy) 9.
Van safety checklist on a weekly basis: a.
Check lights: headlights, brake lights, taillights, and blinkers b.
Check all seatbelts and tie downs are functional c.
Check tires: Visually inspect for flaws, cracks, check air pressure (know what the normal air pressure is); get tires inflated as needed d.
Make sure interior of van is cleaned weekly e.
Check ER bag for needed supplies and update individual data as needed (blood borne pathogen kits, van book, etc.
) *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* Directly supervises two to twelve employees at the assigned work site.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in the absences of Home Supervisor in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
*QUALIFICATIONS* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS* A valid Michigan driver’s license is required as well as current insurance as required by the State of Michigan.
*OTHER QUALIFICATIONS* A felony/misdemeanor background search with MILT and IChat is performed.
Searches of the Office of Investigator General (OIG), Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS), the Sex Offender Registry and the Nurse Aid Registry are also performed.
Results can affect employment status.
